Kansas Takes on Texas Tech in Early Big 12 Battle

Plus, midweek action in the Premier League and a big showdown between the Stars and Kings.

It’s our first edition of SI Guide in 2023! After a thrilling weekend to kick off the new year, we finally get to catch our breath today. Still, with high-level men’s college hoops action as conference play begins, some midweek Premier League matches worth tuning in for and a battle of two of the NHL’s best, the sports slate tonight is still worth getting excited about.

Here’s what I’m watching today.

Kansas Jayhawks foward Jalen Wilson

Men’s CBB: No. 4 Kansas at Texas Tech

The defending national champion Jayhawks get an early Big 12 test in one of the toughest environments to play at in all of college basketball. Texas Tech’s rabid fanbase has lifted the Red Raiders to a 29-game home winning streak, but they’ll put that on the line tonight against a Kansas team that has exceeded expectations after losing several key pieces from last year’s squad. The Jayhawks feature National Player of the Year contender Jalen Wilson and several other veteran pieces who’ll try to crack the vaunted Texas Tech defense and become the first team in nearly two years to win in Lubbock.
